6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Our own website uses very few:

  • Sheet edit session: when you confirm your email with a one-time code to edit one of our public sheets, we set a secure cookie that keeps you signed in to that sheet for up to two hours. It is essential for that feature and is not used for tracking.
  • Event registration: while you register for an event, your name and email are kept briefly in your browser's session storage so registration can finish after payment. They are removed once registration completes or when you close the tab.

We do not use analytics cookies. Advertising cookies set by Google are described in the next section. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking our own cookie stops sheet editing from working, but the rest of the site still works.

7. Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads on our website. Ad revenue helps fund our community activities.
